Funeral service for Zilla Ann Doughty Cone, 66 of Choudrant, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, October 4, 2021 in the chapel of Temple Baptist Church Chapel. Dr. Reggie Bridges, Rev. Dale Oden and Rev. Brad Jones will officiate. Interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Choudrant under the direction Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in Ruston. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in Ruston.

Zilla was born on February 22, 1955 in Pineville, Louisiana and passed away following a brief illness on September 27, 2021 in Ruston, Louisiana. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and on the planning and zoning commission for the town of Choudrant, Louisiana. Zilla received her undergraduate and Master’s Degree at Louisiana Tech University and started her life calling as an educator in 1978. In 1991 she found her home at Choudrant High School where she remained until her retirement in 2018. Zilla was one who exuded unconditional love and this was for her family, her students and her friends. To know her was to love her and be loved by her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bro. Dayton Doughty and Annebelle Arnold Doughty.

Zilla is survived by her husband of 40 years, Pat Cone; children, Patrick Cone II, Jamison Cone, Robert Cone (Ashley), Samantha Cone; brother, Len Doughty (Dianne), Jason Doughty (Jodi); many other cherished family and friends.

Paulbearers will be: Tony Antley, Steve Baker, Larry Brister, Chris Cone, Don Hogan, Doug Postel and Ryan Smith.
