Winnie Elizabeth Allen Hatcher Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Winnie Elizabeth Allen Hatcher of Ruston, LA went to be with her Lord, Saturday, August 14, 2010 after a lengthy battle with Lou Gehrig's disease. Winnie was born on June 10, 1937 near Springhill, LA to Luther “Pete” Allen and Bessie Berry Allen. Winnie, the wife of James Wayne Hatcher, Sr. lived in Ruston for 35 years. She was a retiree of First National Bank and was a professional seamstress. Mrs. Hatcher is survived by her daughters: Donna Dennis and her husband, Barry of Bismarck, AR; Janet Bowen of Hot Springs AR; Lisa Cerar and husband, Grant of Texarkana. She's survived by her sons: Douglas Bowen and wife Cindy of Red River, New Mexico; Thomas Bowen of Shreveport; Jim Bowen and wife Charlotte of Dubach; and James Wayne Hatcher, JR. of Oklahoma City. She had 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Hatcher has 3 surviving sisters: Ida Nell Simpson of Taylor, AR; Dianne Nuckolls of Sarepta, LA; and Anita Kay Hilburn of Haughton, LA. Winnie was an active member of Cook Baptist Church where her memorial services are to be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 noon till time of service at the church. Winnie's hobbies were sewing, cooking, and gardening and was dearly loved by many friends, neighbors, and relatives.
