Mr. Willie E. “Sambo” Ward Kilpatrick Funeral Homes Farmerville Funeral services for Mr. Willie E. “Sambo” Ward, age 91, of Farmerville, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 9, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville. Officiating the service will be Rev. Scott Jennings. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Farmerville, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mr. Ward was born on May 22, 1922 and passed away on December 5, 2013. He was a member and Deacon of Antioch Baptist Church. He retired from IMC Plant in Sterlington with thirty-seven years of service and then worked at Ward's Chapel Water System. He was a master leather craftsman and had a passion for horses. He is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Joyce Wright Sutton Ward, and great-grandson Jonah Ruger. He is survived by his children: Ricky Ward and wife Donna of West Monroe, LA; Samuel Ward and wife Vicki of Farmerville, LA; grandchildren: Melanie Freeland, Joni Brantley, Zach Ward, Samantha Pardon, and Eddie Ward; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Antioch Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers will Dan Albritton, Peter Branch, Bobby Gray, Tracey Terral, Roger Eubanks, and L.E. Pardue. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville.
