Graveside services for Mrs. Willie Mae Rogers, 86, of Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday October 10, 2007 at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Mrs. Rogers was born July 13, 1921 at the Tabor house in Union Parish to Arthur E. and Zyphia Mae McCallum Stewart. After graduating from Jonesboro Hodge High School, she worked at the Advanced Drug Store in Hodge. It was there she met her husband, R. Willis Rogers, who drove the Nehi delivery truck that serviced the drug store. They were married on March 24, 1940 at Hodge Baptist Church. Mr. Rogers died in 1973. Mrs. Rogers was a loyal and loving wife for 33 years. Mrs. Rogers was also a sweet and devoted mother of twin girls, grandmother to five grandchildren and great grandmother to five. Mrs. Rogers took pride in her family and her home. She enjoyed entertaining and was able to live in her home until a few months ago. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur E. and Zyphia Mae McCallum Steward; husband: R. Willis Rogers and brother: Jimmy E. Stewart. Mrs. Rogers is survived by daughters: Linda Ann Rogers Boyd of Ruston and Glenda Sue Rogers Futrell of Monroe; grandchildren: Ann Thompson and husband Russ of Ruston, Trevor McClanahan of Dallas, Susan Boyd of New Orleans, Megan Harper and husband James of Monroe, and Emily Boyd of Dallas; great-grandchildren Mary Arthur, Henry, Ethan, Adam, and Ryan. Visitation will be 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association.
