William “Billy” White Poland was born on July 24, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana., and passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, in Ruston, Louisiana. Billy was adopted by Nita W. and John D. Poland of Arcadia in 1943 both of whom have preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving pets that he considered family. They are Dudley, Miller, Minnie, Sister, Lil’ Joe, Gato, Cody and Julian the cat. Also left to forever cherish memories of him are his friends that he often referred to as his “chosen family!”
Billy lived most of his life in Arcadia with brief times away in Shreveport and Dallas. He worked some at LSUH in his younger years and later drove a transport van for Pafford Ambulance. Billy was a member of FBC, Arcadia and served on the Board of Directors for the Arcadia Cemetery.
He was quite a character by nature but known to be a truly loyal and caring friend by those around him. Billy loved helping older folks and was known for often doing things to help and encourage them.

Jeff Hoffman officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be prior to start of service beginning at 1:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the Arcadia Cemetery.
