William Thomas Strickland, 81, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 5, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 8, 2007 at New Chapel Hill Cemetery with Rev. Josh Head of Decatur, Al. officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Bill was born on October 20, 1925 in Morrilton, Arkansas, His parents, Walter C. and Annie Jane Strickland preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Zerefhia; two daughters, Nita Jean Baldwin and Helen Phillips; two sons, James Elwin Strickland and William Thomas Strickland, Jr. and wife Karen; brother, Carol Gene Strickland; Also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, earning a bronze star for heroism. He worked for IMC in Sterlington for over 30 years. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that taught us the meaning of unselfishness. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are: Brandon Frix, Kerry Strickland, Kary Corbin, Mike Copeland, Blayne Copeland, Dylan Copeland.
