A beloved member of our community, William T. “Buddy” McKeithen Sr., passed away due to complications during a minor surgery on the evening of Thursday, June 11th, 2020. Buddy was an active church member and sought to share his love of God and His word with everyone he met. He was a brother, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, a friend, and a spirit-filled lover of Jesus. He was a man of great humor, and always had a scripture for every need. He was an encourager and a tremendous example of God’s love and light.
The celebration of life for Buddy will begin at 2:00 P.M., Sunday June 14, 2020 at Grace Pointe Church. Bishop Bennie Jones will officiate. Arrangements are being handled by Kilpatrick Funeral Home.
Buddy was born on December 8, 1944 in Monroe, Louisiana. He graduated from Sheffield High School in 1963. Buddy owned McKeithen Drywall for many years in the Birmingham, Alabama area.
Buddy is survived by his three children, one son, William T. “Billy” McKeithen Jr.and wife, Bonnie; two daughters, Danielle R. McKeithen-Mize and husband, Jeff, and Carmen A. McKeithen-Gunn and the mother of his children, Peggy McKeithen-Alexander; former wife, Nelda Jones-McKeithen; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Tiffany, Hanna, Cody, Chandler, Cailey, Daniel and John; three great-grandchildren, Adrienna, Emma and Teagan with two more on the way; brother, Tim McKeithen; sisters, Becky Whitson, Sharon Turner, Shelaine Booth; many other cherished family and friends.
Buddy was a true giver at heart, and there was no greater satisfaction he got than being able to give to the church, so in lieu of flowers, please give donations to one of his favorite churches, Vision Revival Center 4129 Hwy. 133 Rayville, LA 71269, or to any ministry of your choosing to help spread the word of God.
