WILLIAM SAMUEL SMART Funeral services for William Samuel Smart, age 18, who passed away November 13, 2010, will be 3:30 P.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston. Rev. Chris Witt and Rev. Karl Norris will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home. William was born on March 18, 1992 to Caroline Marbury Smart and William Thomas Smart. He attended A. E. Phillips Laboratory School, and then graduated from Ruston High School with honors. William was a member of the French Club at Ruston High School and participated in other activities. At the time of his death, William was attending Louisiana Tech University aspiring to be a doctor. William was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle and cousin to his family. Will meant so much to his wide spread group of friends and teachers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Virginia Lomax Marbury and William Ardis Marbury and grandfather Samuel L. Smart. William is survived by his mother, Caroline Marbury; father, William Smart; sisters, Virginia Elizabeth ¨Lizzie Smart and Christie Sanderson; nieces, Greer and Rocky Sanderson; cousin, Lomax Bailey Napper and Camdyn Anders Napper; aunt and uncle, Rebekah Marbury Napper and Lue Charles Napper. Special thanks to Regina Marshall, Christine Atteberry, and Ronnie Atteberry for their loving support. Memorials may be sent to ¨Up with Down≠s, a Down≠s syndrome organization or to Legacy Park of Ruston, P. O. Box 2030, Ruston, LA 71273, a playground for special needs of Ruston. Pallbearers will be Drew Boyd, Raymond Walker, Logan Taylor, Jon Atteberry, Chin Lin, Matt Sanderson and Lomax Napper. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Morrison, Aaron Atteberry, Nolan Poppin, Jack Breckenridge, Cedric Davis, and Patrick Hall. For a short summer quarter at Tech, my son; included Will; formed a tight group and they called themselves the Four Horsemen. I was told that they would go swimming every afternoon together. He is faithful and proud of Will. We're sadden by the news and pray that God will comfort you all and rests his gentle soul.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Will was a friend to my son at LA Tech and I met him a couple of times. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Carrie, I was so saddened to hear of Will's death. I was so pleased to see his honors at RHS graduation. I was so pleased to see him at his last visit and how he had caught a vision for his future in pursuing a career in medicine. I know I cannot know the depth of your love for him, but know that I cared for him too.
