William A. Tatel

March 11, 2026 - December 7, 2007

Funeral services for Mr. William A. “Bill” Tatel, will be held at 3:00 PM, on Monday, December 10th, 2007, at the Cedar Crest Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Greg Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.Mr. Tatel was born in Fitzgerald, GA on March 11th, 1926, and passed away on December 7th, 2007, in West Monroe, LA. He retired from the Ouachita Parish Police Jury in 1997. Mr. Tatel was a World War II veteran of US Army.Survivors include his wife, Linda Tatel; sons, Jake Tatel and wife, Leslie, of Mission Viejo, CA, Randy Tatel of Nashville, TN and Daryl Platt and wife, Bonnie, of West Monroe, LA; daughters, Glendal Ward and husband, Gary, of Zephyr Hills, FL, and Dawn Platt of West Monroe, LA; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and his best friend, “Tobey.”Visitation is on Monday at the church from 1:30PM until 3:00PM prior to the service.

LINDA AND FAMILY,OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YA'LL AT THIS TIME. √Ç¬†GAMPAW WAS ONE OF A KIND AND CAN NEVER BE REPLACED. I THINK BACK AT ALL THE FUN TIMES WE HAD WITH HIM FOR EXAMPLE. ALL OF THE MARKS HE LEFT ON THE GARAGE WALLS FROM HIS DRIVING. IN JETTY EAST WHEN WE HAD THE BUBBLES COMING OUT OF THE TOILET, HIM BREAKING RIBS FROM FALLING IN THE FREEZER,THINKING WE WHERE GOING TO HAVE TO CALL THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EVER TIME HE WOULD FIRE UP THE GRILL HE HAD THE WHOLE PLACE SMOKED UP. √Ç¬†MY FAVORITE WOULD BE WHENE TOBIE RAN OFF TO THE PASTURE OVER BY GEORGE WELCH SCHOOL AND I WENT OVER THERE IN A RED ROBE AND CLIMBED OVER A FENCE TO GET HIM AND THE NEXT THING I NOTICE WHEN I TURNED AROUND WAS ABOUT 6 BIG BULLS LOOKING AT ME LIKE THEY WHERE GOING TO CHARGE ME. I'LL NEVER FORGET HOW MUCH HE LAUGHED ABOUT THAT. √Ç¬†√Ç¬†WE HAVE SO MANY GOOD MEMORIES OF HIM AND WILL ALWAYS HAVE HIM WITH US.
