Wendell Whitlock, 55, was born in West Monroe, Louisiana on January 27, 1968. On September 1, 2023 after a hard fought battle, Wendell entered his Heavenly home in the arms of his Jesus. His love for his family knew no bounds. Wendell’s wife, Ellen, was the light of his life. His grandchildren, nieces, nephews and pretty much all children gravitated to their Papaw and Uncle Wendell! For the last 30 years, Wendell was a dedicated service technician for the Icee Corporation. He was known as the “Icee Man” and was well known within the company and with his customers for his extensive knowledge and work ethics. Preceding Wendell in death were his parents, Charles and Agnes Whitlock; and son, Terry Malmay.
Left to cherish Wendell’s memory is his beloved wife, Ellen DeMoss Whitlock; daughters, Nicole Landers (Erin Miller), Rebecca Doucett (Dylan), and Heather Hall; grandchildren, Gavin Landers, Gabriel Landers, Noah Landers, Austin Landers, Mechelle Malmay, Caden Doucett, Olivia Doucett, Ellie Doucett; brothers, Ray Whitlock (Ruth), Robert Whitlock (Cheryl); as well as a multitude of loved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Honoring Wendell as pallbearers will be Louis Whitlock, Adam Calhoun, David Boland, Dylan Doucett, David DeMoss, and Brantley Whitlock. Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Anders, Adam Landers, and Christian Whitlock.
The Light Remains

A light so great to the world
That even after they have gone
The Light Remains
