Funeral Services for Virginia Ann Nelson Warner, 91, a long-time resident of Monroe, are 1:00PM on Tuesday, June 4th, 2013, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1901 Lexington Avenue, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Dr. Tim Neustifter officiating. Entombment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Born November 19th, 1921, in Westdale, LA, Mrs. Warner passed away on Saturday, June 1st, 2013, in Monroe. Her husband of 41 years, Amos Claude “A.C.” Warner, preceded her in death in October, 1982. A homemaker, loving mother and grandmother, Mrs. Warner and her husband, A.C., lived in Monroe until 1967. Following a brief journey to Princeton, NJ, they moved back to Monroe in 1974. Mr. and Mrs. Warner were married at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Shreveport and were charter members of St. Paul's United Methodist Church where Mrs. Warner also helped start the first church choir. She was member of the Junior League of Monroe, the Monroe Garden Club, the Monroe Book Club, and the Philanthropic Education Organization Chapter “AK.” She loved her many friends, her family and her church. Mrs. Warner was a mentor to many younger women that she loved. She was an excellent cook and taught many of her friend's children many things and even to sew. A person who never met a stranger, she always had a positive attitude. Love was surely the scarlet thread through her life. Survivors include her 2 sons, Amos C. Warner, Jr., and wife Joanne, and J. Nelson Warner and wife, Jan; 2 grandsons, Devin Wyble and wife, Lindsey, and Dustin Wyble; a great granddaughter, Aubrie Rose Wyble. Pallbeaers include Devin and Dustin Wyble, Doug and Cookie Cookston, Dickie Blackwell, and Earl Huff. Visitation is Tuesday, June 4th, 2013, 11:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
