Violet Reeves Glass Day Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral services for Violet Reeves Glass Day will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011, in the Chapel of Temple Baptist Church of Ruston with Rev. Dale Oden and Dr. Rick Byargeon officiating and with Rev. Tim Post and Katherine Tubbs providing inspiration through music. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery of Bernice with the Rev. Ken Reeves and Dennis Reeves officiating. Mrs. Day, 83, of Ruston, entered eternal rest on Saturday, April 9, 2011, in Ruston. She was born on December 6, 1927, in Bernice, to Willie and Lois Lee Reeves. She was preceded in death by husbands, Waymon Glass and Frank Day; son, David Glass; parents; brothers, J.W. ¨Red Reeves, Prentice Reeves, Hubert Reeves, and Charles Reeves; and sisters, Pansey Hope and Rose Funderburk. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughter, Marsha Glass Holland and husband, Sam, of Ruston; step-daughter, Frances Day Loyless, of Bastrop; grandchildren; Susan Frazier and husband, Bill, of Newnan, GA; Tracey Holland, of Ruston; Elizabeth Chapman and husband, Chad, of Natchitoches; David Loyless and wife, Emma, of River Ridge; and Jonathan Loyless, of Hot Springs, AR; and great- grandchildren, Katee Frazier, of Charleston, SC; Nicholas Chapman and Kaleigh Chapman, of Natchitoches; brother, Joe Reeves, of Bernice; sister Daisy Swanner, of Conroe, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM on Monday, April 11, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Pallbearers will be Glynn Funderburk, Jeff Funderburk, Dennis Reeves, Ken Reeves, Mike Reeves, Tony Reeves, and Matthew Towns. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Armstrong, Jim Reeves, Randy Reeves, Randall G. Reeves, and Andrew Towns. Violet will be known for her love of her family, her career as one of ¨Lewis≠ Ladies in management at Lewis≠ of Ruston and her witness for and love of her God and Savior. Her family graciously acknowledges the loving care given to her by the staff of Alpine Guest Care, Agape Hospice Group, Dr. Ed Mariano, and Dr. David Osafo.
