Funeral services for Mrs. Viola ¨Pinkie Agnes Davenport Coley of Farmerville, La, will be held at 2 o≠clock Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at First Assembly of God Church, Farmerville, La. Interment will be in West Monroe Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mrs. Coley was born in Soldier, Kansas, July 15, 1935 to Jesse and Vera Davenport, of Eddieville, Oregon. She graduated from Eddyville High School near Corvalis, Oregon. She later attended Tennessee Temple Baptist College in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Before coming to Farmerville, she was employed by Bancroft Bag, and then at First United Bank in Farmerville. Later she was employed by Peoples≠ Homestead, also in Farmerville. On May 26, 1953 Viola married ¨Thurman Leon Coley and they had two daughters, Connie and Deborah and one son, Randall Leon Coley. Viola was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Farmerville. This writer had the privilege of knowing her when she and I worked together at People≠s Homestead in Farmerville. She was a lovely lady and a joy to know and work with. After retiring, she became her husband≠s ¨right hand man in his many businesses and activities. Truly, her absence will be felt immensely On the 14th day of April, 2007, Viola Coley was escorted home by God≠s angels. She will be greatly missed by her family, and all of us who had the pleasure of knowing her. Mrs. Coley is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Vera Davenport and a son, Randall Leon Coley. She is survived by her husband Thurman Coley, to whom she was married 54 years, two daughters, Connie Cotita & husband Randy of West Monroe, La., and Deborah Corbin of Farmerville, La. Three grandsons, Courtney Corbin and wife Misty of Shreveport, La., Ben Corbin and fianc© Crystal Green from St. Louis, Missouri, an Ian Cotita of Austin, Texas. A sister, Dixie Schunelpfenig, and husband of Salem, Oregon. Two brothers Edward ¨Bud Davenport and wife Dorothy of Eugene, Oregon and James Davenport and wife Linda of La Pine, Oregon. Nephews, nieces and many, many friends and in-laws who loved her very much.
