Funeral services for Vernon M. Quaid, 83, will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday October, 8, 2020 at Hodge Baptist Church.  Rev. Keith Thomas and Rev. Norris Curry will officiate.  Interment will be at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home~ Ruston.

Mr. Vernon Quaid was born in Winnsboro, LA on January 2, 1937 and passed away on October 6, 2020 in Hodge, LA.  He was a member of Hodge Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling to many countries with his work.  Vernon was an avid golfer, enjoyed boating, and actually lived on his boat for 10 years.  He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Vernon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ree Quaid; children, Carla Haydu and husband Steve from Papillion, NE and Don Quaid and wife Gina from Richmond, KY; grandchildren, Matthew Haydu, Courtney Peavler and husband Jim, Rachel Quaid, and Scott Quaid; Sister in Law, Susie Simmons and husband Gary from West Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Deacons of Hodge Baptist Church.  Honorary pallbearers are Beryl Bashear, Charlie Pixley and the members of Vernon’s Sunday school class.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Hodge Baptist Church from 9 AM until time of the service.
