Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Congregational Cemetery, West Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Young was born November 11, 1927 in West Monroe, LA and passed away July 13, 2006 in West Monroe, LA. Mr. & Mrs. Young owned and operated Young≠s Grocery in West Monroe. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was preparing special meals for her family gatherings. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband, Connie M. Young and daughter Janice Young Kavanaugh. Mrs. Young is survived by her 2 daughters: Kay Clark and husband Ronnie, Regina Simmons and husband George; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; sister: Dorene Decell and husband Garland; brother: Alvin A. Skipper and wife Margie. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy Seaton, Brian Simmons, Charlie Simmons, Todd Hicks, Aaron Davidson and family friend Michael Sims.
