Mrs. Coon was a member of Fair Park Baptist Church and was retired from Ouachita School System. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifton S. Coon, her parents Minnie and Wilson Shively and her sister, Geraldine Taylor. Mrs. Coon is survived by her two sons, Larry W. Coon of West Monroe, LA, Samuel Coon and wife Chris of West Monroe, LA; grandchildren; Brandi Coon Carter and husband Ro of Lillian, AL, Sam Coon, Jr. U.S. Army serving in Iraq, Johnathan Coon United States Air Force of Monroe, LA, Tiffany Coon of Monroe, LA, brother, J. L. Shively of Jonesboro, LA, sister, Faye Fitzgerald of Jonesboro, LA, great grandson, Thomas Carter; several nieces and nephews.
