Funeral services for Una Vee “Mimi” Swope, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday August 14, 2020 at St. Paschal’s Father will be officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville, LA . Visitation will be held Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
On August 10, 2020 Una Swope passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Swope and daughter Brenda Sue Swope. Una was affectionately known by Mimi to her family and friends. She was a loving Mimi not only to all her beloved grandkids and great-grands, she was also a caring Mimi to all of their friends. Una loved dancing, music, travel and dogs of all shapes and sizes. Spending time with her family, especially her grand-blessings, was what Mimi loved the most.
Una is survived by her children; Bruce Swope and wife Dee Anna, James Swope and wife Mana, Bryan Swope and wife Tammy and Sharon Cady and husband Terry; grandchildren Amanda Albert and husband Ben, Jessica and husband Nic, Kathryn Swope, Jon Swope and wife April, Angie Morris and husband James, Reed Duncan and wife Lauren, Amy Peacock and husband Jerry, and Lindsay Cady; great-grandchildren Peter, Hannah, Claire Swope, Caitlin Morris, Olivia Duncan, Noah Cady, Tayler Erskine and Jackson Peacock; sister, Natalie Mendall and husband Ed and brother Peyton Delrie and wife Susie.
The family would like to thank Una’s extended family at Rosemont Assisted Living for the wonderful care and love they showered on her and her family.
