Funeral service for Mr. Thomas Neal “Tommy” Windsor, age 68, of Ruston will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, May 6, 2011, at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Byargeon and Reverend Dale Oden. Interment will follow at Pines Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Tommy was born January 30, 1943, in Sarepta, LA to Reverend Thomas and Minnie Love Windsor. He passed away May 3 in a boating accident on Toledo Bend near Zwolle, LA. Tommy received his education from Minden High School where he played on a winning football team; he also attended Louisiana College. Tommy was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church, a deacon, and a sanctuary choir member. He also assisted with the cooking duties at Temple. Although Tommy worked for Chevron Oil Company for several years, most of his career he was employed by St. Gobain Glass Plant as a plant engineer for thirty-four years. On a personal note, Tommy was a generous, helping, and kind man. He enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, and yardwork. Whatever Tommy put his hands to do, he did it with his might. Many friends enjoyed fish fries and fellowships. His family was special to Tommy. He passed his love for sports on to his son and grandsons. Granddaddy was proud of his grandsons, Dylan and Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Winnie Mae Jennings; and his brother, Joseph E. Windsor. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of forty-eight years, Ann Woodard Windsor; a daughter, Pamela Annette Windsor of Lafayette; a son, Jerry Thomas Windsor of Ruston; and his grandsons, Dylan Thomas and Dawson Tyler along with a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Bill Belding, Donald Colvin, Don Gay, Doyle Holstead, Bernie Johnson, Johnny Mitchell, Truman Potts, and Colin Ringle. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Virgil Orr's Sunday School Class and his colleagues at St. Gobain Glass Plant. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Temple Baptist Church. Planned memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church.
