Funeral services for Thomas ¨Jerry Knight, 68, of Canton, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 23, 2006, at Antioch Baptist Church in Farmerville. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery in Farmerville, LA. Mr. Knight was born on January 29, 1938 in West Monroe, LA., he passed away on June 20, 2006 in Canton, Texas. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was Baptized on April 9, 2006 as a statement of his faith in Jesus Christ. He was a Journeyman Ironworker and in 1972 moved to Paris, Texas to open his own company, K&P Enterprises which consisted of Bonanza Steak House, Popeye≠s Fried Chicken, Knight≠s Landing and K&P Restaurant Equipment. He always supported the Local FFA by purchasing the grand champion steer, was a member of the Rotary Club, President of Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and Community Charities. Jerry never let anyone do without anything. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Chester Knight and Jacqueline Pickens Knight; grandparents, Dewitt and Olivia Pickens. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynette Halley Knight; daughter Jerri Lynn Knight of Detroit, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Jay and Christine Knight of Tyler, Texas; 2 grandsons Holden Knight of Detroit, Texas; Dakota Knight of Detroit, Texas; 2 sisters: Sandra Rushing of West Monroe, LA; Caggie Daniels and husband Jack of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brothers-in-laws Bill and Harriett Halley of Farmerville, LA; Tony and Betty Halley of Monroe, LA; sister-in-law Rita Halley of Farmerville, LA.; Tommy and Dorothy Gilmore of Sterlington, LA; Wayne and Molly Sutton of Sterlington, LA; Frenchie Halley of Farmerville, LA; Jon and Nell Whitte of Dauphene Island, Alabama and many nieces and nephews.
