Funeral services for Thaddeus Lafeze Dean, 95, will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Sterlington, Louisiana under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes ~ Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Rev. Dennis Hackler and Rev. Ben Hackler will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.
Lafeze was born in Monroe, Louisiana on June 20, 1926 and passed away in Bastrop, LA on July 24, 2021. He was a beloved husband, Dad, and Granddaddy. After serving in the United States Navy during WWII and attending LA Tech, he worked for Texas Gas for 38 years. Lafeze enjoyed gardening and playing golf. He loved the Lord and served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher at First Baptist Church in Sterlington, and was also a Gideon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Dean; parents, Brady Dean and Eula Mae Brazzeal Dean; daughter, Martha Buffington; grandson, Jeff DeVille; an infant sister; and in-laws, Clarence and Thelma Doss.
Lafeze is survived by his children, Charlotte DeVille (Jerry) and Debbie McGough (Hugh); son-in-law, Kenny Buffington; grandchildren, Benji Buffington (Hannah), Patrick McGough (Polly), Courtney Worley (Ben), Kelly Bennett (Corey), and Morgan McGough (Margaret); great-grandchildren, Hallie DeVille, Wesley Hart, Marley Bennett, Peter McGough, John McGough, Deacon Worley, Harrison Buffington, Olivia Buffington, Mila Worley, and many nieces, nephews and other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Benji Buffington, Patrick McGough, Morgan McGough, Jerry DeVille, Hugh McGough, and Kenny Buffington.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Cherry Ridge Skilled Facility in Bastrop for the loving care of their father.
