Funeral services for Sybil Findley Ragsdale, 89, of Memphis, TN, will be held at 10 AM, Monday August 16, 2010, at Cathedral of Praise in Cordova, TN, under the direction of Forest Hill Funeral Home East of Memphis. Mrs. Ragsdale, affectionately known as ¨Raggie by her friends, was born May 26, 1921, in Russellville, AR, to Emmitt and Mae Findley, and passed away on August 12, 2010 in West Monroe, LA. She lived in Memphis, TN, for 45 years, where she was a faithful member of Cathedral of Praise Assembly of God church in Cordova, TN, for all of those years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 65 years, Reverend Al Ragsdale, her granddaughter Wendy Ragsdale, four brothers and five sisters. She is survived by her sons, Albert Ragsdale and wife Christine of Newport News, VA, Alton Ragsdale and wife Elaine of Birmingham, AL, and Jim Ragsdale and wife Ruth of West Monroe, LA, one brother, Ted Findley, three sisters, Opalene Hartsfield, Helen Brown and Margie Harbin, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. There are also more than fifty people who through the years were under ¨Raggies child care and fondly claim her as their grandmother. The family wishes to give special thanks to Louisiana Hospice, and in particular Mary Wiggins, Terry Eppinette, Peggy Clark, Brenda Rhodes, Gale Palm, and Chaplain Milton Pray, for their dedicated service during the last months of her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be Sunday, August 15 from 4-6 PM at Forest Hill East in Memphis, TN.
