Funeral services for Mrs. Sybil H. Brown, 77, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday, October 30th, 2007, in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Greg Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the McCormick Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mrs. Brown was born December 30th, 1929, in Monroe, LA, and passed away October 27th, 2007, in West Monroe. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward W. Brown, and by her parents, the late Harvey T. and Audrey Steed Hammond. A homemaker, Mrs. Brown was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. For over 27 years she worked in the concession stand at the West Monroe Dixie Youth Ballpark. Survivors include her 3 daughters, Edwina Kirkland and husband, A.J., Linda Parham and husband, Bill, and Donna Powell and husband, Randy; 3 sons, John Brown and wife, Terri, Larry Brown, and Tommy Brown and wife, Debra; 3 brothers, Paul, Ralph, and Harvey L. Hammond; a sister, Gloria Rentz; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers are Robby and Gary Kirkland, Doug and Josh Brown, Chris Shackelford, and Dustin Powell. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Sims and Scott Jones. Visitation will be held Monday, October 29th, 2007, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
