Funeral services for Susan (Susie) Gaile Harner Beard, 76, will be held Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Church, 601 Highway 34, West Monroe, LA with Bro. Michael Sims officiating.  Visitation will be held at Pleasant Hill Church on Friday, November 3, 2023. from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Services are under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Our dear Mama, Mamaw, and friend Susie Beard passed away on October 31, 2023.

She was a wonderful Mother who was always there when we needed her.  She also had many friends in the community, church, and West Monroe Guest House.  She was well loved and was always willing to help her family and friends that need a good home cooked meal.  She made a mean deviled egg! She even delivered.   Susie loved her family deeply and would do anything to help.   She had a quick wit and was not afraid to use it.  While her health allowed, she attended Pleasant Hill Congregational Church and enjoyed a meal afterward with Linda and Creasy.   Susie also loved butterflies and flowers, and  had a green thumb like no one else.  She will be greatly missed.

Susie is preceded in death by her husband Alchyny Earl Beard, parents Virgil Harnar and Virginia Harnar.

She is survived by her sons Royce Earl Beard (Kindra), Roman Dale Beard (Kayne);  grandchildren Brittney Beard (fiance’ Jeffrey Verrett) and their children Chandler and Corban; Wesley Beard (Angie) and their children Patrick, Nate and Parker; Rainey Glass (Jordan) and children Ava and Ali; Adrianna Hanson (Heath) and children Weston and Willow; Gavin Beard, and Piper Beard; sister Jenny Winn and brother Ronnie Harnar;  step-grandchildren; Josh Davidson, Sydney Wagner(Elliott) and their son Preston and Thomas, still in the oven, Cassidy Coleman, Kasey Myers (Steven) and children; fur baby BJ Beard; special friend Linda Rogers and  many other friends that were like family.

Special thanks for Josh Davidson,  for the love and time you shared with Susie these past few months.  Also to Charles Brown that kept her car in tip top shape.
