Miss Sunshine was such an important person in my life as my teacher in second grade, church leader and friend. She and Mr. Nick were special people who lightened up rooms with their gift of hospitality. I owe my love of reading to this special lady who encouraged me to read her favorite book--"The Secret Garden" which to this day is also my favorite. Thank you Lord that my path and hers were joined in so many ways.

Dear Family and Friends, I was a funeral director for Kilpatrick's for several years and had the wonderful experience of meeting Ms.Sunshine. She was the sweetest, funnest and most remarkable person I have ever met. She had some great stories that she shared with me about her and Nick's life together. She knew everyone that walked into the funeral home and everyone knew her. There will never be anyone like her again, she was one of a kind!!!!!
Robert L. Stephens left a message on October 9, 2007:
I was in her second grade in 1947-48 at Eastland, and I will never forget that wonderful teacher. I saw her at her funeral home job in 1994 and was able to say thanks, but will never be able to thank her enough. She was married that year, which broke all the boys' hearts.

We remember Sunshine and Nick fondly from our college days in the 60's. They were lovely people that meant a lot to us. They helped make happy experiences that have stuck with us throughout our lives. Rest in Peace.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
