Bunn officiating. Interment will follow at Twin City Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. ¨I am a lineman for the county and I ride the main lines. The words to the famous Glen Campbell song could have been written to describe Stevie, who spent 42 of his 82 years working for Louisiana Power & Light Entergy. Making sure the people of Louisiana had reliable electric service was his life goal. During the final years of his life, Stevie loved his church friends at Edgewood Baptist Church in West Monroe. Prior to that, he was Chairman of the Board of Directors during the reopening efforts of the historic Frantom Chapel Church in Jackson Parish. He was a member of West Monroe Masonic Lodge #419, the York Rite Bodies, Barak Shrine Temple, and Past Master of Annie D. Bennett Chapter #181 Order of Eastern Star. Stevie provided transportation for crippled and burned children to the Shriners Hospital in Shreveport. Like most Shriners, he loved a good parade, and was an active member of the Flivvers Unit. Bringing smiles to children during parades and at the Shrine Circus was a great joy for him. During World War II, Stevie was a member of the United States Navy and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. He was born and raised in Wilmont, Arkansas, and resided in West Monroe for most of his life. Stevie was survived by his wife of 11 years, Bobbie Culverhouse Evans. He had one daughter, Kathy Lied, a very special son-in-law, Jim Lied, and their daughter, Tonya Lied. He also had one son, Buddy Evans, and his sons, Ryan and Cole Evans. During his final 11 years, he also had 2 step-children, Lynne Walters and Greg Culverhouse, and step-grandchildren, Savannah and Jessica Culverhouse, and Justin Walters. Stevie was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Evie Lou Copeland Evans, his parents Freddie and Tom Evans, three brothers and one sister. The family requests memorials be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled and Burned Children. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home-West Monroe.
