Funeral Services for Steven Allen Terral, age 69, of Dubach, LA will be 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 15, 2023, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA., officiated by Cody Livingston, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 12:00 – 4:00 P.M., Friday, September 15, 2023, Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, in Downsville, LA.

Steve has gone to be with our Father God in Heaven.  During his time on earth, he was a loving and giving Dad, Pepaw, Brother, Cousin, Uncle, Son and Friend and he wanted to help everyone.  He was a rock for many and will be missed.  He always had time to listen and give good advice.

He was in the construction field all of his life, starting out with his dad, Buster, and working throughout his life with his brother Kenneth and various cousins in different capacities.  Kenneth and Steve started Terral Boy’s Construction together.  He was able to mentor a lot of people in the industry along the way and made many lifelong friends from working with so many people over the years.

Steve loved his work and solving problems.  He also loved to travel and dance, and he could talk for hours but most of all he loved his family and friends, and we loved him.

Steve was born on August 15, 1954, in Mesquite, TX.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Terral, Jr. & Nell Rose (Simmons); and his brother, Kenneth Terral.

He is survived by his children, Stacey Terral and wife Amber, Courtney Terral, Jamie Terral and wife Ilona, and Brendan Terral; grandchildren, Rheagan Jackson and husband Alex, Cheali Howell, Hunter Howell, Alexander Terral, and Heidi Terral; brother, David Fugitt and wife Tracy; sister, Kathy Doolittle; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

The pallbearers will be Jamie Terral, Lucas Tepole, Stacey Terral, Christopher Doolittle, Adam Terral, and Alex Jackson.

Steve has told me, many times, how much he enjoyed living with our grandparents as a child. Back in the 1960s, when I was a child and lived in Dallas, a few times each year we drove to Downsville and visited mammaw and pappaw. I was thrilled as soon as I got out of the car and saw Steve and Kenneth and Kathy. I missed them after they graduated high school and moved away. Ten years ago, living in Dallas, I felt trapped there by the job market, but I found a way to escape, and I moved to West Monroe, and have been able to see my cousins again. A few times each year, I would meet up for dinner with Steve, Kenneth, Kathy, Cody, Jimmy Doolittle, and my Savage cousins at the annual Allen family reunion held at Catfish Cabin in Monroe, and Hollis Seafood in Spearsville, the Warehouse in Monroe, and the Cheniere Shack in Calhoun. My last dinner with Steve was May 21 of 2022, a Saturday night, at the Warehouse. I snapped a photo of him on my phone. After an hour, we wondered why it was taking so long for our food to be brought out. The waiter apologized and told us they had forgotten to give our order to the kitchen. That was okay with us, because we were having a good time talking. The time passed and we barely noticed. I am glad I had that time that evening with him. I wasn't ready to lose Steve... I mistakenly believed I would have many more years with Steve, and looked forward to many more times with him. Just two weeks ago, we discussed which Mexican resturant in Ruston we wanted to meet up at as soon as his health improved. Steve has told me, more than once, that when mammaw was getting old, he asked her "You are the glue that holds us all together, but after you are gone, who is going to hold us all together?" and she said "Steve, you be that glue."
