Stephen Paul Morgan, age 66, of Jonesboro, LA entered the gates of Glory on September 23, 2020, under the care of Ascend Hospice, and surrounded by loved ones.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. at North Hodge Assembly of God. Visitation will be Friday, September 25, 2020, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at North Hodge Assembly of God with Rev. Geary Phillips, Rev. Lance Huckaby and Rev. Eric McBride officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories of Jonesboro, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston.
Stephen was born August 31, 1954 to Earline Kimble Morgan and Carl Morgan, Sr. Stephen married Tammy Pardue Morgan on May 2, 1975. He was a loving father to Angela Morgan and Shane Morgan.
He retired from West Rock in 2017 and enjoyed every day of retirement. He spent hours helping Tammy with canning by picking fruits and vegetables. Stephen loved spending time with family in the garden and the pea shed.
His faithful companion “Bud” was always at his side. Stephen was skilled at Archery. He was a member of the Jackson Parish Archery Club. In recent years, Stephen became certified through LSU AgCenter to work with youth interested in Archery. He spent many volunteer hours helping design the Archery range at the Jackson Parish Sports Complex with good friend, Anthony Denton.
Stephen was baptized March 31, 2013. He was active member of North Hodge Assembly of God serving as an usher and working in the kitchen for various occasions.
Honoring Stephen as pallbearers are Anthony “Huck” Livingston, Scott Morgan, Bobby Orwell, Randy Layfield, Michael McDonald, Steve Miles, Ricky Robinson and Shawn McMillan.
Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Denton, Steve Miles, Waylon Price and Hal Mims.
Preceding Stephen in death are his parents; Earline and Carl Morgan; and sister, Katherine Morgan.
Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Tammy Pardue Morgan; daughter, Angela Morgan; son, Shane Morgan; brothers, Robert Morgan and Michael Morgan; sisters, Patricia Byrd and Mary Ann Richards.
