A celebration of the life of Stacy B. Heard will be at 10:00AM on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe with Rev. Daniel Hawthorne officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Cities Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Stacy was born on September 21, 1924 in Poznon, Poland, and at the young age of 83, slipped peacefully away from this life into the next on Saturday, May 12, 2007 in West Monroe. At the age of seven years, she and her mother Rosalie Banasek, and her brothers Edward, Matthew, and Henry came to the United States through Ellis Island where they joined Stacy≠s beloved father Stanley Banasek in New Britain, Conneticut. As a child growing up in Connecticut, Stacy was an excellent student, graduating with honors from New Britain High School. She was an avid ice skater, her role model being the classic ice skater, Sonja Henny. At the age of 22, Stacy left New Britain for Tokyo, Japan, where she worked for Pratt and Whitney Airlines. She also worked under the direction of General McArthur in the foreign affairs department. It was in Tokyo that she met and married her husband, the late Loy K. Heard. They were married for fifty-two years before Loy passed away in February of 2001. Stacy spent over forty years in West Monroe, where she raised four children, and was active in her church and civic organizations. In 1990 she and Loy moved to Naples, Florida to enjoy their retirement in the sunshine state. Her favorite pastime in Naples was relaxing in the sunshine on the patio reading a great book, and watching Rusty, her beloved dachshund chase insects in the grass. Her proudest accomplishments were her four children, Loy, Hillary, Marcia and Brian, who she loved with all her heart. Anyone who met Stacy immediately loved her. Her kind and compassionate nature, her sense of fairness and justice, and her sharp mind and quick wit made her popular with those who knew her. She was always positive, always optimistic. Her favorite saying was, ¨You never know what wonderful thing each day may bring. Stacy was preceded in death by her husband, Loy K. Heard, her parents Stanley and Rosalie Banasek, and her brothers Eddie and Matthew Banasek. She is survived by her children, Loy Heard of West Monroe, Hillary Kasbarian and husband, Charlie, of Richardson, Texas, Marcia Spillers of Austin, Texas, and Brian Heard and wife, Paige, of Cedar Park, Texas, and a brother, Henry Banasek of New Britain, CT. She is also survived by her five beloved grandchildren, Melissa Heard, Christy Kasbarian, Michael Kasbarian, Jackson Heard, and Jake Heard. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation will be at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe on Tuesday, May 15, from 5:00 to 8:00PM. ¨Slow me down, God, when I am in a hurry and you are not. Help me walk with you, not ahead of you. Teach me to plant the seed and leave the harvest to you. We love you Mom – always and forever.
