Graveside services for SSG James Harmon Meade will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Northeast Louisiana War Veteran’s Cemetery in Rayville, Louisiana with full Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12 Noon, Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ West Monroe.

James passed away at his home on September 5, 2021 in Monroe, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving 21 years. James received many honors and medals including two purple hearts.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Meade; daughter, Lisa Ann; parents, Tom and Shirley Meade; siblings, Tommy, Bobby and Colette; his daughter-in-law and best fishing buddy, Julia Meade.

James is survived by his twelve children, Dennis Meade and spouse Judy of Muskogee, Oklahoma, James Meade of Slidell, Louisiana, Tony Meade and spouse Linda of Shreveport, Louisiana, Linda Harper and spouse Robert of Carthage, Texas, Jerry Meade of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Kenny Meade of Seattle, Washington, Terry Dillard and spouse Kenny of Stonewall, Louisiana, Mike Meade of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brenda Sweatt and spouse Mike of Lawton, Oklahoma, Theresa Newman and spouse Ross of West Monroe, Louisiana, Dana Champlin of West Monroe, Louisiana, Donald Meade of Shreveport, Louisiana; twenty seven grandchildren; fifty four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; many other cherished family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Meade, Tony Meade, Mike Sweatt, Isaac Newman, Ross Newman, John Joseph and Bubba Sebren.

Absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.
