Funeral services for Shirley Gates will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 10, 2024 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Interment will follow at Olla Cemetery, Olla, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until service time under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Shirley was born March 20, 1947 and passed March 5, 2024. She was a well loved Mom, Nana, aunt and friend to those that knew and loved her. She was happily married for 45 plus years to her husband Bobby, where she spent many of those years on Kings Lake and  Toledo Bend fishing and raising their daughter Kristi. In her later years she dedicated her time and love to her patients at the Guest House as an LPN. She spent her free time being a loving Nana to her granddaughter Brianna. Shirley never met a stranger and always had a smile that could light up a room. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Gates; parents Homer and Mary Floyd; brother Glenn Floyd.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Kristi Cloud and husband Joey; grandchildren Brianna Fife and Brayden Cloud; very special sisters-in-law Carolyn Floyd, Wanda and Danny Young and Suzanne Gates; numerous nieces and nephews.
