On March 9, 2021 God reached down and took the hand of Sherri Lynn Cheatham Burrows as she entered heaven’s gates. She was born March 18, 1970 in Eagle Lake, Texas. Sherri lived most of her life in Eagle Lake and in West Monroe, LA. She had fond memories of her years in both cities and met the love of her life, Jay in West Monroe. They had just moved back to West Monroe that she lovingly called home.
She is survived by her loving husband Jay Burrows, three sons Jonathon Ward and wife Alise, Blake Burrows and wife Morgan and Brian Burrows; her mother Cindy Thomas Breen and husband Rick; brother Shane Cheatham and wife Melanie; nephew Jim Cheatham; mother-in-law Carolyn McIntosh; father-in-law Jerry Burrows and wife Connie; sister-in-law Pam Bishop and husband Kevin; brother-in-law Brad Burrows and wife Trish; granddaughter Paisley Burrows; aunt Linda Balas and husband Steve; aunt Marsha Bouldin and husband Les; additional family Granny Ruth Sanderson, Mike Breen and wife Dianna, Chase Breen and wife Hollyn, Cody Breen and wife Crystal, Austin Breen and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
What a greeting she received from Heaven from those who went before her! She was preceded in death by her dad, Mike Cheatham; grandparents Evelyn and Jimmie Thomas, Gerry Cheatham Heard and Frank Cheatham; cousins, Brian Balas and Renee Balas Bullard.
Sherri loved life and loved doing for others. The simple things in life brought her much joy. Her love for family was her focus. She overcame many obstacles in life and pursued God’s plan throughout her 50 years on Earth. She had a special commission and fulfilled it as wife, mother, daughter and friend to all. God gave her many talents she never recognized, and that was her legacy. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Due to climate caution a private graveside services will be held Friday, March 12, 2021 at New Chapel Hill Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors at St. Francis Medical Center for their loving care during her illness.
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org), St. Judes Children’s Hospital or Autism Speaks.
