Funeral services for Seleda McClain, 94 of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 22, 2024 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes in West Monroe. Brother Mark Blann will officiate and interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Seleda was born on March 10, 1930 in Lufkin, Texas and passed away on April 16, 2024 at the West Monroe Guest House in West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a LPN for E.A. Conway and Glenwood for several years. One time, Seleda was named employee of the month at Glenwood Home Health for saving a man’s life. She was a sweet person with a good sense of humor and like to go out to eat at nice restaurants. Seleda made shopping a top priority. She loved her family very much and they will miss her. Seleda was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Nelson McClain; daughter, Ginger McClain; parents, Hutson and Ann-Nell Smelley from Houston, Texas.

Seleda is survived by her son, Gary McClain of West Monroe; daughters, Brenda Murphy from West Monroe, Rebecca Barr and husband Tracy from Foreman, Arkansas; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Alfred Smelley from Alto, Texas; sisters, Johnnie McCray from Huntsville, Texas, Joyce Minter from Porter, Texas; and many other cherished family and friends.
