Graveside services for Scottie Greene Traylor will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Forest Lawn Cemetery Ruston, LA with David West speaking under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
Scottie was born January 6, 1951 in Ruston, LA and passed away October 24, 2022 in West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents Greene and Carmel Traylor of Ruston. Scottie was an avid guitarist since a teenager. He played in a few bands, notably Spirit of St. Louis in high school, Zachariah in college and The Reactors from 2004-2020. He was a long time Beatles and classic rock fan. He worked as an architectural draftsman, in the music retail industry in several capacities, and retired as a financial advisor which he loved, after 20 years. Scottie worked and retired from Argent Advisors, Inc. in Monroe. He graduated from Ruston High in 1969 and LA Tech University in 1973 with a BA in Architecture. Scottie served on the Kitty Degree Foundation Board for 20 years and the Indian Lakes Home Owners Board for 19 years, 10 of those years as Treasurer. He was a member of PAWS of NE Louisiana for 18 years and provided music and a PA for events. Scottie proved to be a great cat daddy leaving behind 8 spoiled felines.
Scottie is survived by his wife of 47 years Jo Dunham Traylor; brothers Terry Traylor, Kevin Traylor, and sisters Amanda Thurston, Sondi Fiegel and husband Driller, aunt Shirley Moss and husband J D,; nephews Beau Fiegel and Garrick Thurston; niece Scarlett Bracey; 3 great-nephews 3 great-nieces and numerous cousins.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Walker Jr., Robert Dunham, Les Dunham, Tony Inman, Trey Curtis, Rich Labon; honorary pallbearers Hank Kelly and Steve Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to PAWS of NE Louisiana or Families Helping Families.
