Memorial services for Mrs. Sarah Jane “Sally” Huggins Liebetrau, age 79, will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 14, 2011, at Grace Episcopal Church with Father Whit Stodghill officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. until service time, day of service, in Kilbourne Hall under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Private family burial will take place at a later date in the Grace Episcopal Church Columbarium. Mrs. Liebetrau was born on November 11, 1931 in Janesville, Wisconsin to her parents George and Ruth Ormond Huggins and passed away on January 11, 2011 in Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, William Henry Liebetrau. Survivors include her daughters, Gail Grant and her husband, Joe Bailey and Margot Parker and her husband, Chris; granddaughter, Sarah Gail Riley and her husband, Peter; and her brother, George E. Huggins. She graduated from Sarasota High School in Florida and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, CO. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She met her husband, William “Bill” Liebetrau at the University of Colorado. After living in Denver, Nashville, and New Orleans, they moved to Monroe in 1964. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Monroe, Daughters of the King, Bayou DeSiard Country Club, Ladies Golf and Tennis Association, PEO Chapter AE, Monroe Garden Club, the Fort Miro Chapter of DAR, and The Bridge Club for over 25 years. The family would like to send a special thank you to the caregivers at Arden Courts in Richardson, TX, especially Rachel.
