Ruth Ela Barron Wade went to her heavenly Home on December 14, 2006. Her last days were spent in Grace Home, where she was lovingly cared for. Hymns, prayers and Bible verses were offered at her bedside, and God≠s Presence was felt during this last event of her life on earth. Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Farmerville, LA.; on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Johnson officiating, assisted by Rev. David Martin. Interment will follow at Beulah Baptist Church, Beulah Church Road in Farmerville, LA. The family will receive friends at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 15, 2006. Ruth was born on December 25, 1914 in Spearsville, LA., to Robert Henry and Ela Rockett Barron, and had ten brothers and sisters. She graduated from Warner-Brown School of Nursing in El Dorado, AR., then married her high school sweetheart, Richard Dick Kilgore Wade. They lived in Farmerville, where she was a public health nurse in Union Parish for many years. She gave of herself to her church, her friends, family and those in need. She enjoyed flower gardening, painting, traveling and cooking for others. Ruth loved her church family, especially her Sunday School class. In later years, Ruth lived in the Arbor, both in Farmerville and Bossier City, and at the last, was in the Terrace, Bossier City. She also lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Velda and Perry Watson, of Bossier City, for a time. They along with caregivers Ernestine Roberson and Alice Evans, took loving care of her as long as possible. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers and sisters Joe Barron, Cisco Barron, Gurvis Barron, Guy Barron, Lavelle Barron, Willie Barron, Ruby Larde and Florene Kelley. She will always be missed by her children, Velda Watson and husband Perry, of Bossier City, Peggy Rogers and husband Don of Trade, TN, and Barry Wade and wife Judy of Tuscon, AZ; her grandchildren, Tara Allgood and husband Pat of Haughton, Julie Freeman and husband David of West Monroe, Maura Rogers of LaVerne, CA, Dr. Rachel Roberson and husband Greg of Marion, VA, Richard Wade and wife Kristen of Chicago, IL, and Robert Wade and wife Alison of San Diego, CA, and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Harold Barron of Oak Grove, LA, and sister, Nell McWaters, of Shreveport, seven sister-in-law; as well as a large number of nieces and nephews. The family expresses deep gratitude to Dr. Michael Sewell, Juanita Myles and heer staff of the Terrace, especially Linda and Elaine. They also thank Kathy Howard, Alice Evans, Life Path Hospice, and the excellent staff at Grace Home. Pallbearers will be nephews Ned Barron, Glenn Barron, Dwaine Barron, Bruce Barron, Gene Barron and Dr. Joe Barron. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Farmerville, or Grace Home in Shreveport.
