Earl McInnis left a message on September 16, 2013:
I only knew Roy when he and I were about 16 years old. A good friend I remember. I stayed with my grandmother, 1952-1953 by the mouth of the Darbone and he lived on top of the hill. I only talked with him once about 6 years ago and he told me he had retired and was ill. I was just passing through West Monroe and because of his schedule could not meet up. But I have thought about him from time to time all these years. So, hopefully he will be on that other shore when I get there. God bless his sole. I only came across his passing because my grandmother Euginia Elizabeth had married, I believe his uncle and not sure about his First name Frank Naron. She passed away in the Monroe area about 1960 and I was searching trying to find where she is buried. I have a story to tell about Roy. I was coming home late one night on my small motorcycle. Roy and another companion of his were traveling in a car the same way as me. They cut their lights off and got right upon me and screamed. Almost jumped off my motorcycle. We had laughed about that many a times. Good old Roy. I miss him. Earl McInnis

Our heartfelt prayers go out to the Naron Family during their difficult loss of such a beautiful, Christian man: Roy Naron, Sr. Yes, he had so many roles: Husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, nephew, mentor, police officer, et al. He touched so many lives in profound ways, including ours. He has rightfully earned his reward in Heaven. May God in His loving providence, provide peace & comfort for your hearts.

As a health care professional I worked with Mr. Naron several years and can attest to his sincerity of character and being able to hold up "under fire." He was dealt a hard blow with a chronic illness but stayed strong and made it easy and a joy to minister to him. His wife was also a constant, patient and faithful companion to the end, demonstrating what a loyal wife should do when times get tough. What a blessing to have known this family!

We are sorry that we didn't get to see him again since we last saw him in April 2009. Our prayers and thoughts are with all the family and friends in Louisiana. We wish we could be there, but we will see some of you in a couple of weeks when we visit family in Louisiana. He helped both of us and our children in so many ways that we will always remember that he was always there for us when we needed his help and love and support. We will always miss him. Love, Jim and Mary
