Funeral services for Mr. Roston Johnson, age 76, of Bernice, LA., will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2013 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Farmerville. Officiating will be Bro. Gary Canterberry assisted by Larry Ryals. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville, LA.Mr. Johnson was born on March 23, 1937 in Farmerville, LA., and passed away on December 26, 2013 in West Monroe, LA. Preceded in death by parents Sidney and Myrtle Thomas Johnson, son Charles (Chucky) Johnson, Siblings Robert E. Johnson (Coke), Sidney T. Johnson (Hopper), Dovie J. Ryals (Duck), Velma Lee Johnson, Lena Johnson, and Mary Elizabeth J. Waggoner.Survivors include his sons Paul Roston Johnson of West Monroe and Perry Lee Johnson of Bernice. Brothers Raymond Johnson of Farmerville and Elton Johnson (Tick) of Converse. As well as a sister Elvin J. Carter. Grandchildren Jamie Charles Johnson of Farmerville, Kodie Dixon of Farmerville, Paul Ryan Johnson of Calhoun, Nakiya Ros'Shai Johnson of West Monroe, Nicholas Lee Johnson of Zachary, Michelle Lee Johnson Mercer of Burley, Blake Lee Johnson of Monroe, and Lauren Lee Johnson of Monroe. Great-grandchildren Chasity and Jamison Johnson, Rylan and Tytan Johnson, Trey, Peyton, Hallie, and Reece Mercer, and Benjamin Johnson as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many many friends. Pallbearers will be Steve Tedeton, Richard Farris, J. J. Johnson, Jamie Brantley, Sidney T. Johnson, and Keith Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Stephen Silk.Visitation will be held Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Can't think of gardens without thinking of Rostons'. He gave away more than he raised, always helping out other people in need, whether it was vegetables, venison or just words of wisdom. My girls always loved and laughed many times with Roston and he taught them about gardening and life, most people didn't know how kind he could be, but we know. Love to the family and know Roston is in a better place.
