Rolanda Miller Howe Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral service for Mrs. Rolanda Miller Howe, age 68, of Ruston will be held at l0:00 AM Monday, September l3, 20l0 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Ruston. Officiating the service will be the Reverend James Benbrook. Interment will follow at Pines Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick's Funeral Home in Ruston. Mrs. Howe was born August 20, 1942, and passed away September 10, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard B. Howe of Ruston, LA, and parents, Roland and Martha Miller of Vero Beach, FL. She is survived by her children: Martha Howe of Shreveport, LA; Heidi Howe of Jackson, MS; and Richard Chauncey Howe Teri of Ruston, LA; grandchildren: Wren Knapp, Martha Darby Melia, and Rhyan Marie Melia; sister: Marsha O'Neal Charles of Columbia, SC; sister-in-laws Ann Ellis, Birmingham, AL; Mary Holmestead Earl Lancaster, CA; Ruth Woods Bert, and Sarah Auerswald Ronnie, Greenville, MS. Brothers in Law Joe Howe, Jr, Wilma Lancaster, CA, and John Chauncey Howe Brenda, Collerville, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. Mrs. Howe was a Home Health nurse and caregiver to many members of her community. She was President of The Happy Gardener's, Daughters of the King, Altar Guild, Dixie Theatre volunteer, Prayer Shawl Knitting Group, the Nifty Knitters, Lincoln Parish Museum, and several bridge clubs. Visitation will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer immediately following the graveside service. Pallbearers will be Wade Baker, John Fred Richmond, Dr. Barry Johnson, Mitch Smith, Cary Brown, and Jim Justice. The family would like to express appreciation to Carroll Home Health, Agape Hospice, Dr. Allen Herbert, Dr. David Osafo, and all the nurses and other physicians and aides who gave her so much love and care.
