Roland Philip Campbell

Mr. Roland Philip Campbell of Dubach, Louisiana died in hospice in Hot Springs, Arkansas surrounded by his family on May 8, 2018. He was 84 years old.Roland is survived by his wife of 63 years, Clara B. (Hooper) Campbell of Mount Pleasant, TX. His children:Daughter, Laura Campbell of Nashville, TN. and Herb Pitre of Houma, LA. and her children: Jason Champagne with wife Melissa and children Gabby and Gavin; Katherine (Champagne) Laub with husband Curtis; Matthew Champagne.Son, Alan Campbell of Homer, LA with wife Marta and their children: Philip Campbell with wife Malinda and children Layla, Annabel, and Wesley; Jared Campbell with wife Laura and children Rhett and Judson; and son, Sean Campbell.Son, Bruce Campbell of Georgetown, TX with wife Nicole and their children: Cory with significant other Krista Harrod and child Emma Grace; Lucas Campbell; Hannah Campbell and significant other Tim Drew; Caitlin Campbell.Daughter, Lisa (Campbell) Wilson of Hot Springs, AR. with husband Mark and their children: Valerie Woods with significant other Brandt Foster and her children Landen, Mason, and Weston; Brad Woods and child Boston; Courtney Stepp and significant other Michael Lambert and her children Brice, Bentley, Ross, and Evan; Magan Burke with husband Scott and children Chris, Carmen, Trystan, and Isabella.Roland was born in May 1934 in Gouldsboro, ME to Clifford C. and Eleanor (Gordon) Campbell. He is survived by his brother, Carlton and wife Carol, his sister, Pat Gordon and preceded in death husband Kendall, his sister Sharon Rice and husband Mike, and brother Kendall and significant other Ellie Lizotte and numerous nieces and nephews. When visiting his brother, Carlton in Shreveport, LA, he met the love of his life, Clara Beatrice Hooper and decided to make Louisiana his home. In 1955, Roland started working for Harrison Company as a salesman. He then worked another 7 years as a salesman for Homer Tobacco Company. They lived in the Ruston LA area where they raised their 4 children teaching them his love for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer, a true outdoorsman with many great accomplishments (and stories) throughout his years. Another favorite pastime of his was the game of forty-two. We will never play another game of dominoes without remembering the good times we had playing forty-two with Roland.He was a Lifetime member of the NRA. In the day, Roland enjoyed dancing, especially the jitterbug, and was a member of Arthur Murray School of Dance. He was an active and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Dubach for 41 years, where he was a Sunday School teacher for many years.
