Robin Lindsey Gates, 22, of Ruston, LA, cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, died Monday, April 24, 2006. She was born on Sunday, November 27, 1983, beginning her adventure into the wonders of the world. During her short but full life, Robin was a girl scout, a dancer, shortstop, guitar player, ever fearless, and had a voice to make the angels smile. She was smart, funny, focused, generous, and loving. She excelled at everything she put her exceptional mind to, whether schoolwork, cooking, or waiting tables. Robin was an honor student at LA Tech majoring in English with a Spanish minor, and a part-time waitress at Squire Creek. Robin earned 2 scholarships and made the President≠s list every quarter while still working to save money for her next adventure, whether a European vacation or wilderness survival treks near the Arctic Circle in Canada. An avid reader, Robin was as happy curled up with a good book as setting up camp on a mountaintop. She loved life, her family, her friends, music, art and a good garden tomatoÉ\u0096or 3. She wanted to make the world a better place and she certainly made it brighter with her radiant smile. No one who knew her could help but feel happy in her presence, so God must be happy now that she is in His. She truly fit the saying ¨And the child that≠s born on the Sabbath Day is fair and wise and good and gay.
