Dr. Robert Parke PhillipsKilpatrick Funeral HomeRuston, LADr. Robert Parke Phillips, DDS, 58, passed away June 4, 2015 at his home in Marysvale, Utah with his loving family at his side. Parke passing was due to complications of cancer. He was born May 1, 1957 in Ruston, Louisiana to Robert Wayne Moose and Yvonne Catherine Lazarus Phillips. He married Katherine Marie Heath, March 8, 1986 in Ruston. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple, September 24, 2005.Dr. Phillips graduated from Ruston High School in the class of 1975 (go cats go). He graduated from LA Tech in Zoology with a minor in Chemistry in 1979. He then graduated from LSU Dental School in 1983. He practiced dentistry in Bernice LA from 1983 to 2000 at which time he went to work with the LA Dept. of Corrections at David Wade Correctional Center until 2009. At that time he retired and moved to Marysvale, UT where he volunteered with Lizzie and Charlie RV/ATV Park. He also volunteered with the US Forest Service and Utah State Parks. Dr. Phillips also served on the Paiute Trail Committee. Parke has served faithfully in his callings in the LDS Church. He has served in bishoprics and was a beloved Gospel Doctrine instructor in Marysvale.He is survived by his wife, Kathye of Marysvale; daughter, Kira Phillips Gibbs and son-in-law, Jeff Gibbs; granddaughter, Autumn Faith Gibbs all of Ruston, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Ruston Latter Day Saints Church, where friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30, with burial in the Greenwood Cemetery.
