Funeral services for Robert Glen Murray will be held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, Louisiana, on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ricky Harmon officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Robert Glen Murray went home to be with his Heavenly Father on October 23, 2021, at the age of 75, in Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Murray was born on March 19, 1946, and lived most of his life in Ouachita Parish. Mr. Murray was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Murray; his beloved parents, Allen Oliver and Annie Mae Murray; his sisters, Lucille Robinson, Dorothy Mae Parker, and Ann Truelove; and, his sister-in-law Brenda Faye Murray, who raised him and who he called Mom; brother-in-law Noots Adams. Robert served honorably in the United States Marine Corps for eleven years, including a four-year tour of duty in Vietnam, after which he was awarded a Purple Heart. Following his service, he worked for many years at Graphic Packaging. He was dearly beloved by his three girls, and never met a stranger.
Robert is survived by his three daughters, Lisa Jane Adams and husband Larry, Karey Ann Murray, and Rhonda Kaye Dowdy and husband Tony; siblings William Harold Murray and wife Mary, Beatrice Adams, Joe Allen Murray, Sr., who was like a father to him, and sister Linda Dale Thompson; niece and “like a sister” Sharon Murray; nephew and “like a brother” Joe Allen Murray, Jr.; seven grandchildren: Tiffany Duncan, Rodney Frith, Jr. and wife Christina, Lindsey Sullivan and husband Scott, Cassedy Frith and wife Sarah, Kelsey Redding and husband Chase, Jacob Frith and wife Kimberly, and Mahaley Rone and husband Tyler; and, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joe Allen Murray, Jr., Wayne Murray, Rodney Frith, Jr., Cassedy Frith, Jacob Frith, and Jason Wyatt.
