Robert Craig Winstead Funeral services for Robert Craig Winstead, 26, of Ruston, LA will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 28, 2007 at Temple Baptist Church in Ruston. Officiating the service will be Dr. Rick Byargeon, Rev. Jeff Lewis, and Rev. Dale Oden. Interment will be in Pines Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Craig was born in Ruston on April 12, 1981 and died in Ruston on May 25, 2007. One of Craig≠s passions was his involvement as a certified personal trainer. Craig was a senior in Exercise Science at Louisiana Tech University. His love for his family was strong, but none stronger than the love he shared with his brothers Chuck and Scott. Craig is survived by his parents, Charles and Jon Anne Winstead of Ruston, LA; brothers, Chuck Winstead and his wife Jennifer of Baton Rouge, LA and Scott Winstead and his wife April of Ruston, LA. The lights of Craig≠s life were his nieces and nephews, Morgan, Chloe Mae, Trey, and David; and numerous aunts, uncles, other family members, and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church Youth Department. Visitation will be Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. I can't tell you how my heart is breaking for you all. Jeremy just told me. I can remember those days at the skating rink like they were yesterday. I watched him grow from a pre-teen kid to a man and I was so blessed to have known Craig and call him my friend. I'm sure you know we were very close and he was so special to me. We would occasionally still chat through email although I haven't spoken to him in a couple of years now. Oh how I will miss him! He was larger than life! I was devastated to hear about Craigs death. I remember growing up with him at Temple and he was always such a fun and easy going guy. He always had a way of making me laugh and he was such a kind, sweet and good natured guy. I know he is in a better place now but I am in shock still knowing that he got taken away from us way too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the Winstead family every day but I know he is still with us all in our hearts and minds, hopefully we can all grow stronger from this, I know that is what he would want. I just want his family to know that I will continue to pray for their strength and healing after such a terrible loss. He touched alot of lives in such a positive way during his time with us and I know he will continue to do so from up above, thats just the kind of guy he was, such a genuine sweetheart, he always put others feelings before his own and the past few years he helped me out in so many ways, ways that he didnt have to but he did with out thinking twice about it.
