Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 20, 2006 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe to celebrate the life of Robert Charles Shipp who died in an automobile accident on June 17, 2006. Officiating will be Reverend Jamie Bonner. Robert will be laid to rest next to his father in Monroe Memorial Park, on Highway 80, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Robert was born July 29, 1985 and was a student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He was preceded in death by his father, James Marvin Shipp, Jr. and his grandparents, James Marvin Shipp, Berlin and Elsie Pipes Heck and Earl Mathus. Robert is survived by his mother, Kay Heck Shipp; brother, Jim Shipp; sister, Allison Shipp; grandmother, Margaret Mathus. Robert≠s aunts and uncles are Wayne and Annette Shipp, Don and Elizabeth Yielding, and Charles Heck of Monroe; Berlin and Pat Heck of Broken Bow, OK; Mary Ida Kay of Corpus Christi, TX; and William Heck of Talequah, OK. He is also survived by special cousins, Bryan Shipp, Nora and Brandon Richardson, Amy and Jeff Colvin, Chuck and Lori Yielding, Jeni and Diron Cundiff, Juli and Brent Braswell, Chris Yielding, Bucky and Kim Heck, Greta Heck, Maria Belfield, Charlie and Stephanie Heck, Lisa Harms, Will Kay, John Kay, Mike Kay, Justin Heck and Garrett Heck. Robert graduated from St. Frederick where he played baseball, football and soccer. He spent many hours hunting and fishing at the farm with family and friends. He cherished his lifetime friends in Monroe and new friends at LSU, especially his Sigma Chi brothers. We will all remember Robert for his loving personality and zest for life. Pallbearers will be Harrison Banks, Eric Gardner, Chris Haas, Mac Ledbetter, Chris Mickail, Robert Moore, Daniel Sartor and Martin Zentner. Visitation will be 5:00-9:00 P.M., Monday, June 19, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Frederick High School for the Robert Shipp Memorial Fund. Online messages may be sent to www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.

Please accept my condolences on the loss of your son. I didn't know him but I too lost my daughter in an automobile accident last October. She was 20. I will keep your family in my prayers because I know how hard it is to lose a child. Just hold on to the memories until you meet again.
