Memorial services for Ricky Williams will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Danny McIlveene officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M.
Ricky Williams was born November 6, 1959 at Andrew’s Air Force Base Hospital in Suitland, Maryland and passed away November 11, 2023 doing what he loved at the deer camp. He grew up in Dodge Park and Laurel, Maryland. During the summers as a child Ricky and his sisters Carol and Pam would visit his grandparents, Talmadge and Ina Payne on their farm in Crowville, LA. This is where Ricky found his love of working with tools and building things. In 1974 he moved with his family to West Monroe, LA and attended West Monroe High School where he played football, did power lifting and took training at the vocational school as a machinist.
Rick had many friends that he loved dearly. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved deer hunting, duck hunting and fishing and was super competitive with his son Derrick. He took pride in everything he did, was a hard worker, a hard player and an honest man. Rick loved sharing his outdoor life, loved his children and grandchildren and took so much pride in them. He especially loved watching Kelsey play softball in high school and travel ball.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his step-dad Mark R. Little.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Sara K. Williams whom he met in 2015 and their motto became “God saved the best for last.” He is also survived by his mother, Nancy Little; dad, Raymond Williams (Donna); sister, Carol Parker and Pam Richardson (Devin); sons, Derrick Williams and William Lawson; daughters, Kelsey Williams and Erin Brown (Joey); grandchildren, Evan Grace Williams, Shephard Scott Williams, Payton Brown, Ella Brown (his partner in crime) and Ruby Lawson; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
