Funeral services for Richard ¨Rick Powell, 40, of Rocky Branch, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Rocky Branch, LA. Rev. Brian McAllister and Rev. Woodson McGuffie will be officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rick was born December 12, 1970 in West Monroe and passed away June 15, 2011 in Rocky Branch. He was the First Mate on the David G Sehrt riverboat for Ingram Barge Co. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rick attended NLU now ULM and was a member of PKE Fraternity. He served 6 years in the Louisiana National Guard. Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Jason Lee Powell. He is survived by his parents; Kim and Terri Powell; sister, Dr. Allison Ainsworth; nieces, Isabel Ainsworth and Grace Ainsworth; uncle, Robert Richardson, a cousin, Richie Brantley, and numerous cousins and friends. Pallbearers will be Boone Brantley, Jr., Bobby Godina, Scooter Barkley, Richard Denham, Richard Lyle, and Joseph Mazzanti. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the church.
