Funeral services for Morgan Leonard Sapp (Daddy and Papaw), 95, of West Monroe, LA will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 2:00 PM. Viewing and condolences will be held from 12:00 PM until time of service. Place of service and interment will be held at Luna Assembly of God Church and Cemetery.
Leonard was born March 19, 1925 in Danville, GA and passed away December 18, 2020 in West Monroe, LA. He finished his education after his World War II enlistment and Honorable discharge. He worked hard to obtain and receive his Doctor of Divinity Degree while he was pastoring in Gulfport, MS. He ministered for 75 years as church staff, associate pastor, and Lead Pastor for churches in GA, MO, MS, and LA. He was a great father, grandfather, and great-grandfather to Gary, Patricia, Nicole, Renee’, Riley, Brooklyn, Brandon, and Haiden. He loved people and people loved him. Leonard was devoted to the ministry of God, and three of his favorite things were preaching, praying, and visiting hospitals to help people.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 77 years, Irene in April of this year. He was also preceded in death by all of his family members.
Leonard is survived by his son, Gary and his wife Dee; daughter, Patricia; grandchildren, Nicole Harpe, and Renee’ Flannery and her husband Joey; and great-grandchildren, Riley Flannery, Brooklyn Flannery, Haiden Harpe, and Brandon Harpe. He is also survived by many friends, and so many of those are just like family. Leonard loved animals and Patricia’s newest puppy, Ginger.
Officiating will be Rev. Scott Holmes, Superintendent, Assemblies of God for Louisiana, Gene Benson, Pastor of Lapine Assembly of God, Joel Brackett, Pastor of Luna Assembly of God, Butch Pilcher, Senior Pastor of The Assembly, and Gary Sapp, Pastor of Harvest Church.
Pallbearers will be Larry Cash, Paul Frost, Ken Albritton, Brandon Harpe, Clyde Kelley, and Nathan Albritton.
