Funeral service for Rev. Charles F. Tolbird 86, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday March 11, 2008 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home-West Monroe with Rev. Robert Mercer, Rev. Robert Hill, Rev. Eugene Brown and Rev. Troy Patrick officiating. Interment to follow at Old Lapine Methodist Cemetery off Charlie Griggs Road in West Monroe, under the Kilpatrick Funeral Home-West Monroe.Rev. Tolbird was born February 24, 1922 in West Monroe, LA and died March 9, 2008 in West Monroe, LA. He served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Rev. Tolbird was an ordained Assembly of God minister serving his congregation for over 55 years. He had pastored numerous churches throughout Northeast Louisiana. Rev. Tolbird loved Gods word, and was loved by all who knew him. He was known by many as the walking bible because of his knowledge and memory of God?s word. Rev. Tolbird was a member of Seigle Assembly of God Church in West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sadie Tisdale, Gertie Evans, and Ruth Sanders and a grandchild, Tammy Bollier.Survivors include his wife, Mary E. Tolbird; daughter, Barbara Hite and husband Johnny, Charlene Bollier and husband Joey, Marilyn Lee and husband Mitchell; son, Rev. Loy Tolbird and wife Shelly; sister, Eunice Williamson and husband Eldridge; brother, Curtis Tolbird and wife Billie; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Scott Williams, Daron Hemphill, Marlin Hataway, Michael Trichel, Jerry Kilpatrick and Evan KilpatrickHonorary Pallbearer will be Daniel Hill.Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2008 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
