Byrd Lee Terry Jr. Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, La. Run Date Tuesday June 12, 2007 Photo: None Byrd Lee Terry Jr. was born at Mt. Lebanon Bienville Parish on July 10, 1929 to Byrd L. Terry and Myrtle Jones Terry. He enjoyed the history of that area as his ancestors were the early settlers. He attended the Public Schools in Gibsland La. and graduated from Centenary Collage with a degree in Speech and a Master of Divinity from Emory University. Byrd began his ministry in Hilly and Salem Communities and served Churches in St. Francesville, Bernice, DeQuincy, Vivian, Monroe, Haynesville, Winnfield and Ruston. He loved God, Church, Family and The Ministry. He was always involved in Civic Organizations as well as local Schools where he was serving as Pastor. Rev. Terry is survived by: Wife, Janice Nobles Terry; sons: Lee Gregory Terry and wife Donna; John Bradford Terry and Fianc© Christi Dickerson; grandchildren: Ashley, Tyler, Justin, and Elli; Cousin: Lynnwood and Betty Burkhalter and a host of friends. A Celebration of Rev. Terry≠s life will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA. at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2007. Officiating will be Rev. Fred Wideman, Rev. Rolly Walker and Rev. Jimmy Pyles. Interment to follow at Salem Cemetery in Dubach, LA. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Ruston, LA. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Louisiana Conference of Methodist Ministers and The Ruston Kiwanis Club.
