Funeral services for Raymond Dickerson, 83, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at New Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Marty Black and Rev. Charles Dupree will officiate. Interment will follow at New Chapel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. before the service.
Raymond was born on December 6, 1937 in Henderson, North Carolina and passed away on November 20, 2021 in West Monroe, Louisiana surrounded by family. He was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Raymond served on the New Chapel Hill Scholarship Committee, a member of Gideons International and a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was former owner of Woodcrest Mobile Homes before entering into the banking business. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Dock Dickerson and Myrtle Ayscue Dickerson; and brother, Tommy W. Dickerson.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia Pierce Dickerson; children, Cathy Dickerson Short and husband, Philip of Henderson, North Carolina, Darlene Dickerson of West Monroe, Louisiana, Rodney P. Dickerson and wife, Theresa of West Monroe, Louisiana, Michael L. Dickerson and wife, Mary Beth of Monroe, Louisiana; brother, Bobby Dickerson of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Juanita Dickerson of Henderson, North Carolina; grandchildren, Christopher Short and wife Jennifer, Jessica Choplin and husband Brian, Chelsea Mull and husband Colin, Kyle Dickerson and wife Sierra, Michael R. Dickerson and wife Yasmeen, Mary Amanda Dickerson and fiancé Grant, Mae Dickerson; great-grandchildren, Levi, Maci, Dalila, Cameron, Hudson, Noah, Caleb, Stella, Tatum, Amelia, Perry; many other cherished family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Dickerson, Michael R. Dickerson, Christopher Short, Colin Mull, Grant Garrison and Corey Pearce. Honorary pallbearers will be the New Chapel Hill Adult 9 Sunday School Class and Perry Hawkins.
